Rabastan --

I have received word from Lucius that there is an interested party awaiting an interview at the Hog's Head, in Hogsmeade. I would greatly appreciate it if you would make time to see to this man.

Lucius Malfoy wrote:My Lord,

I have a potential new recruit to report to you. One William Bishop, by name. I first encountered him after attending a conference in America. He showed an interest in the cause in conversation at that time. I saw no need to mention him, as at the time, I had no reason to believe he'd ever come to Britain. He has since emigrated, and showed a marked interest when I ran across him in a pub last night. In the name of discretion, and to stop his apparent searching for contacts, I informed him that a contact would seek him out at the Hog's Head pub in Hogsmeade village.

While Mr. Bishop shows an admirable zeal for the cause, I have to admit that I find him lacking in discretion. I was unable to ascertain in our meeting any specific skills which might prove useful, and so, barring additional information, would recommend him fro front lines work, with minimal advance knowledge. I await your responce as to what, if any further action I ought take in this matter.

Yours in the pursuit of the betterment of the Wizarding World,

Lucius Malfoy

My thanks,
Lord Voldemort.

Rabastan --

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. However, I regret that I will be unable to meet you, for tea, this afternoon. Other concerns have arisen, rather suddenly.

Please send your report and transcript by owl, and I shall review them. I may call upon you and Lucius for your advice in how to proceed, but I will make that decision once I have seen your report.

With regret,
Lord Voldemort.

My Lord-

I hope this change in plans leads to good ends. The transcript is attached, and my observations follow:

Mr. Bishop is typically American, in his uncouth demeanour, and his efforts toward cleanliness and housekeeping appear minimal, at best. On the surface, I find him unimpressive, and unsuitable for any work requiring subtlety, manners, or taste.

He seems relatively unintelligent, failing to see basic connections between action and consequence in his behaviour, although this may result from his unorthodox Pureblood background. Instead of respecting the danger involved in living surrounded by the Muggles who murdered his ancestors, he seems to have developed the idea that by virtue of being a Wizard, he is entitled to anything he desires, and no one can stop him from having it. Unfortunately, this attitude seems to extend to his relations with other Wizards, and that will need to be addressed.

I do not like Mr. Bishop as a man, but his training in hunting and tracking may make him valuable in the field, on missions in which we are ... uncertain of the location or strength of our quarry. I will advise a field test to see if he is as good as he claims to be.

Rabastan --

I have read your report and considered it. I would like to see you and Lucius on Tuesday evening, in the usual place. I would value your opinions on a method for testing our Mr. Bishop. He is a strange creature.

Supper will be served at eight sharp. I trust you will be on time.

Dominus vobiscum,
Lord Voldemort.

Rabastan --

You will go to Versailles with Lucius, this weekend. I expect you to finalise the negotiations, for him, should charisma and galleons be insufficient.

Dominus vobiscum,
Lord Voldemort.
